Nana’s Simple Trick to Clean Your Oven Without Harsh Chemicals

Cleaning the oven is a task many of us avoid, but Nana’s simple method transforms it into something quick and stress-free. Rather than relying on strong chemicals or endless scrubbing, all you need are three everyday items: a dishwashing pod, a heatproof casserole dish, and some water. Begin by preheating your oven to 200°F (93°C). Fill the dish with water, drop in the dishwashing pod, and place it on the middle rack.

As the oven warms, the water begins to steam, releasing the pod’s cleaning enzymes into the air. After about an hour, the heat and steam work together to soften grease, grime, and baked-on residue, making it far easier to clean. Once the oven has cooled slightly, simply wipe the surfaces with a damp cloth. Even tough spots come away with minimal effort, leaving the oven noticeably fresher.
