Father’s Day was supposed to be a simple celebration—pancakes, paper cards, and the joy of being together. I never imagined it would become the moment that reshaped my entire understanding of my family. My daughter Lily, bright and imaginative at five years old, has always filled our home with wonder. It allowed her to express herself freely while giving me a chance to understand the situation better. As she smiled with excitement, I felt a mix of worry and determination settle in.
