So the following day, I arranged for Caleb to stay safely at home with me and placed a baby monitor inside the stroller instead. When Nate left again without checking the stroller, I followed from a distance. At the café, I overheard a conversation that confirmed my fears—he had been confiding in someone else and misleading me about his intentions.

My heart hurt deeply, but instead of anger, I chose clarity and strength. I confronted Nate calmly, made decisions to protect myself and Caleb, and moved forward with quiet dignity.
