The woman accused of striking and killing a Jefferson Parish Sheriff’s Office deputy late last month had 11 different drugs in her system at the time of the crash, according to Orleans Parish court records.
Erica Smith-Katsanis, 53, was booked into the Orleans Justice Center on a count of vehicular homicide on Wednesday (Feb. 25).
At a Thursday (Feb. 26) bond hearing, Magistrate Commissioner Jay Daniels set Smith-Katsanis’ bond at $200,000. He also prohibited her from driving.
