‘Deadliest Catch’ star Todd Meadows’ cause of death revealed

The official cause of death for “Deadliest Catch” deckhand Todd Meadows has now been confirmed — and the details are as tragic as they are devastating.

According to his death certificate, obtained by TMZ, Todd died from “drowning with probable hypothermia” along with “submersion of body in cold water.” The 25-year-old was pronounced dead at 5:15 p.m. on February 25 following an accident aboard the Aleutian Lady crab vessel in the Bering Sea.

As previously reported, Todd Meadows fell overboard while working on the fishing boat off the coast of Alaska. Cameras were rolling at the time, but his family has made it clear they do not want any footage of the incident to be aired.

The documents also confirm that his body was transported back to Anchorage before being cremated.

Todd, who had recently joined the crew as a rookie deckhand, leaves behind his wife and three young sons. In the wake of the tragedy, his family launched a GoFundMe campaign that has already raised more than $56,000 to help cover expenses and support his children.

The fundraiser description captures the depth of the loss, stating:
“This unimaginable loss has left his children without their father, his parents without their son, his siblings without their brother and his family broken.”
