As I sat in Kevin Sanders’ office, trying to hold back the tears, I recounted the events of the past few days. Kevin listened intently, his face a mixture of concern and disbelief. When I finished, he leaned back in his chair, silent for a moment, as if piecing together a complex puzzle.
“Anna,” he began gently, “what you’ve described is troubling, but it also doesn’t quite add up with what I know about David’s intentions. I remember distinctly how much he cared for you and how he wanted to ensure you were taken care of no matter what happened.”
Kevin opened a drawer and pulled out a file. “Before he passed, David updated his will and made it clear that you were to be the primary beneficiary of all his assets. This other will that his family claims to have—something is off about it.”
