Ethan spent the next few days in deep contemplation, replaying the incident with Charlotte in his mind. The cruelty he witnessed couldn’t be excused or overlooked. The image of Rosa’s tear-streaked face haunted him, and he knew he had to make things right, not just for her, but for himself. He was not the man to allow injustice to go unchecked, especially in his own home.
First, he reached out to Rosa. He wanted to ensure she was okay, both emotionally and financially. Over the phone, Rosa’s voice was hesitant, but grateful. “Thank you for standing up for me,” she said softly. Ethan promised her that she had his support and that no one in his employ would ever treat her — or anyone — with such disdain again.
