I hadn’t planned on cleaning that day. I was folding laundry when a sudden message appeared: “We’re heading over!” My heart jumped. I knew I hadn’t checked the bathroom in a while, and the moment I stepped inside, the mix of humidity and soap residue confirmed it. I opened the cabinet hoping for supplies, but it was completely empty. That’s when I spotted a slightly used dryer sheet stuck to a shirt in the laundry pile—and in my moment of panic, it felt like a solution worth trying.
I grabbed it and started with the toilet tank, unsure of what to expect. To my surprise, dust lifted instantly, and the room took on a clean, gentle scent. Encouraged, I wiped the lid, seat, base, and even the small corners that usually collect hidden grime. The sheet didn’t leave streaks, and its soft texture made it easy to glide across surfaces. I kept going—door handle, light switch, baseboards—anywhere that needed a quick refresh.
