Beloved NHL reporter Jessi Pierce and her three young children lost their lives after a house fire in their White Bear Lake, Minnesota home on Saturday. Neighbors noticed flames and smoke rising and quickly called emergency services.
When firefighters arrived, the home was already fully lit, and they couldn’t save anyone inside. Jessi and her three children, Hudson, Cayden, and Avery, were all confirmed dead. A deceased dog was also discovered.
Pierce, a well-known figure in the hockey community, worked for NHL.com, covering the Minnesota Wild for years. She was not only a respected reporter but also a loved person. Her death has left friends and colleagues heartbroken.
While the cause of the fire remains under investigation, preliminary details from investigators suggest it was not an act of arson, according to The Minnesota Star Tribune.
On Monday, the fire department said, “preliminary findings have not led to any evidence that the fire was set intentionally” and that the cause of the blaze was still under investigation.
“Our priorities are, first and foremost, being present for those directly affected by this tragedy, conducting a thorough investigation, and ensuring our first responders involved in this incident heal alongside the community,’ the Fire Department said.
