I didn’t argue or send a long dramatic message — I simply chose dignity over confrontation. The next afternoon, instead of dwelling on hurt feelings, I invited a few neighbors and friends over for an impromptu meal. We laughed, shared stories, and enjoyed the dishes I had poured my heart into.
