New details about Tiger Woods’ arrest amid car crash

When Woods agreed to perform field sobriety tests, the deputy observed that he was limping and stumbling to the right. The golf legend explained that he had undergone seven back surgeries and more than 20 procedures on his right leg following a serious car accident near Los Angeles in February 2021.

Levenar wrote that when asked whether he could complete basic tasks like walking or lifting his leg, Woods said he has a limp and that his ankle locks up when he walks.

Due to these medical issues, Levenar instructed Woods to sit on the bumper of a patrol vehicle for the remainder of the investigation. After Woods removed his sunglasses, the deputy observed that his eyes were bloodshot and glassy, with extremely dilated pupils.

When asked if he had consumed any alcohol, Woods responded that he had not.

Tiger Woods was set to play in the Masters golf tournament at Augusta National next weekend. However, due to his arrest, he has decided not to.

Tiger Woods breaks silence

On April 1, through his social media channels, Tiger Woods released a statement about what happened. He explained that he is stepping away from golf to focus on his health.

“I know and understand the seriousness of the situation I find myself in today,” the statement from Tiger Woods said. “I am stepping away for a period of time to seek treatment and focus on my health. This is necessary in order for me to prioritize my well-being and work toward lasting recovery.”

Tiger continued, saying that he is “commited” to taking the time he needs to “return in a healthier, stronger and more focused place.”

“I appreciate your understanding and support, and ask for privacy for my family, loved ones and myself at this time,” Woods concluded.
