The Paper Trail: Texts and DoorDash Deliveries

The prosecution presented a digital trail that they argue confirms Roberts’ consciousness of guilt. Screenshots from a group chat allegedly show Roberts discussing the use of emergency contraception with friends.

Corroborating this, a local DoorDash driver testified that he delivered a “Plan B” pill to Roberts’ home following the party. The order was placed under the name “Misty C.” The driver told the court he recognized the residence from previous years of trick-or-treating with his own children and later connected the delivery to the rumors circulating about the mayor.

Further evidence revealed a text exchange with the victim’s mother, who reportedly messaged Roberts to ask if she was pregnant. Roberts allegedly responded that she was on birth control before eventually seeking the emergency contraception.

Admission to Ex-Husband

Perhaps the most damaging testimony came from Roberts’ ex-husband, Duncan Clanton. He testified that Roberts admitted to him in person that she had sex with the teenager and that their children had witnessed it.

According to court documents obtained by the Daily Mail, Roberts texted Clanton saying, “I need to talk to you… I just need to tell you in person.” She later allegedly confessed, “I f—ked up. And I respect you enough to tell you. And I need to.”

In subsequent messages, Roberts appeared to acknowledge the broader impact of her actions, writing, “I can’t keep hurting others, friends and family. Lord knows I’ve done enough.”

A Chaotic Scene

Witnesses described a “booze-fueled” and chaotic atmosphere at the 2024 pool party. Roberts, wearing a bikini, was allegedly seen dancing and flirting with the minor while other teenagers drank by the pool. While the prosecution presented photographs from the event, witnesses clarified that no private parts were visible in the images.

This current trial represents the state’s second attempt at a conviction. The first trial ended in a mistrial after two judges were removed from the case due to alleged connections to Roberts’ ex-husband.

According to reports from KPLC and the American Press, the trial is scheduled to resume Saturday at 9 a.m.
